Kundalini chakra practices were once secret, only passed down from master to student in ancient India. Now accessible, the knowledge of the subtle energy pathways in the body called nadis and chakras can offer us a spiritual mapping of our current consciousness and our path toward an awakened consciousness.
what are chakras?
We all know that our mental chatter and our emotions play a large part in our overall wellbeing, as well as the health of our body. We also all know that in order for us to be healthy we need our emotional life to be as stress free as possible. Each foundational emotion such as fear, love, grief, and others, have direct relationships to the balance of the chakras in our body.
Chakras are our energy systems and in order for us to live a healthy balanced life we need them to be balanced. It is as simple as that!
The word chakra means 'wheel' in Sanskrit ... a wheel of energy which spins like a vortex. There are many little chakras in the body, in your hands and your feet and all around the body to supply the body with vital energy/prana. The kundalini yogic texts speak of eight main chakras in the body - each is an interface for the flow of life energy to the foundational emotion in the area of that particular chakra.
